My yard has its annual poppies popping up way too early! It is still Winter.
I love the little flames. They open at dawn and curl up tight at night.
They are wild and untamed. And a bit unkempt! Native flowers.
They are also the California State Flower.
I am too much of a teacher...sorry.

If they're wild, untamed and out of control.. doesn't that make them a weed?? I have some spray for that :) But they are pretty. I actually think dandelions are kind of pretty, the little yellow one. My husband just grunts at me.
I like both avatars Bird. Perhaps the blue one more. I like his pose :)

I like the Shrike too, It has a classic feel to it.
Me, I love all the birdies bird....I think I really like the blue background the best though....it looks like the bird is turned, talking at you in the comments....although your shrike is your original..... :)
